Some concerns about balancing teams in terms of shooters. As a lone shooter on my team, there was just no way i am playing against dash, grreat, and pac so i asked to keep dash on my team since he wouldnt need a colour change (although any 3 of them would be fine). Scrum relies heavily on BM so there was just no way...
Also later that night, teams were imbalanced with the other team full of shooters yet we we're still seeing some leeroys that obviously had no chance of scoring. Leeroys from Musick and some BMT folks. Few from me and the rest of my team too but at least they had a chance of going in. I also kept seeing others race to the scrum while a person from the opposing team is almost in range of shooting them.. knuckleheads
One thing I can't stress enough on is man-to-man defence. If you've ever played with me "2on2" (either an actual 2on2 or 2on2 at the goal) and you are running the scrum, you'd notice that most of the time i will let one defender go after you (I'll shoot him up some if and only if no one is shooting me) and I would go after the other one closer to the goal. As a runner, you should know how to use terrain to your advantage..always face the defender if its one-on-one. Now, as the runner, what you want to do is either take the defender to school and trust me to kill the other defender in time or just block him out or you could spank him (not a good idea if more defenders on the opposing team are coming to the goal - your radar is your new girlfriend). Doing what I do IMO, gives you (as the runner) the chance to improve scrumIQ and redeem yourself

One thing that's funny is when theres a camper and you and your buddy are headed to the goal with the scrum. the defender is a better shooter than player A, who is thinking of blocking. Player A goes for the block meanwhile Player B is bumper-to-bumper with Player A, scrum goes to Player A, Player A gets shot out, other team scores, Players A&B run home to their momma. As player B you should not be so close to player A and try to be as angled as you can. Theres a 33% chance that Player A will bump the defender to the opposite side which creates an opening. If he's bumped to the side where you're coming from, then you can shoot him out as he will probably be badly damaged from being shot by Player A.
A smoking tank in the goal is still good. My teammate is coming in to the goal, theres one defender (you) in the way, I'm smoking badly. Hey you know what, since you don't want to get your arse out of the goal for a few secs just to shoot me out, I'll just wait over here and take cover so that the you cant shoot me and wait till my teammate is near the goal. I'll also angle myself about 90 degrees or more with respect to my teammate since i know the turrets can only turn so much. Once the defender takes aim at my teammate (the runner) I come out of hiding and we can both shoot the hell out of the you. If I get shot out, then thats fine, I've already dealt significant damage right when you took your aim off of me. 2gunsown1kthxbai. Did this to pac last night.. not sure if he noticed.
There's no need to go after a defender thats already outnumbered. Period. Just go to the goal and block out any others heading there or spawning there.
Its good to see a bunch of people have improved their game a little, like meatpuppet, and stink.. where is that guy, i told him he will surpass me soon but I guess hes on vacay. Stiff is a fast learner but still needs more firepower and also needs to watch the radar and block out incomming defenders instead of just lurking around the goal.. read the above paragraph (this also goes to a hell of a lot of people - just thought id mention this under stiff's name since he will learn to do this as he reads)
That's it for now, Dj out
