CHL: Sorry dude, I came in late. Besides, hopefully you weren't defending yourself, but trying to reasonably present why you believe what you believe. The thing is, we've got to remember that we're just trying to find those with a desire to know God and point them in the right direction. There's only so much we can do on our end, the rest is up to God to draw people to Himself and reveal the truth to them. That's part of what I was trying to get at earlier. Sometimes we forget that God Himself plays a very active role in this process and its easy to get frustrated when we're trying to do it all ourselves. We help those along who are earnestly seeking the truth and let the argumentative or obstinate roll off our backs. Its so tempted to try to argue someone into the Kingdom by trying to provide proof or that perfect little analogy, but even when Christ was here on earth, living the life, loving everyone and performing miracles, people still doubted, hated and eventually murdered Him. It just goes to show that no matter what you might say to someone or do for them, they absolutely refuse to come to the knowledge of the truth, in part that they've been blinded by the enemy as well as their refusal to submit themselves to God.
Hang in there and keep searching for the called.
Hang in there and keep searching for the called.

I won't go into any detail but for those of you who don't believe in god, your IQ is in jeopardy here. Why would you gamble on that, when the price to believe is free and the risks to not can be forever. It don't hurt one tad to believe, and you covered your bases. I just don't get you atheists or agnostics.

@ CB
it really depends on how one comes to a belief in God and how God is defined within that belief. blind faith can be very dangerous.
i have a very strong faith but it does not conform to any of the prescribed organized religions. because of this i have been labeled both an atheist and agnostic...neither of which is true.

I do not see where this is going. There are two things that you should never talk about in public. Religeon and Polotics. Both ALWAYS end up in flame wars unless you are all democrats...
But, I currently see no harm in talking about religeon on a simple thread such as this. Just no one go around making threads
"How could we Kill Bush...?"
Then I will speak.

At least in the Greek Orthodox (yes, I'm Greek) tradition, we believe that you will seek God for help, he will not come to you for aid. The existence of God is very obvious if this is the main subject for this post. If you want to read the greatest book on story's, get a BIBLE. It is full with obvious proof. If you do not believe in God, I can understand where you come from. I respect your descisionm, but I do not believe what you may believe. CB is right, there is obvious proof that God exists. You may chose not to believe this but look around you!

Normally I don't like to get into religion talk on here, I do that on politics forums, but this was too good to resist:
Tell me, which one of these definitively proves that God exists? You know, a traditional logical proof, with reasons and explanations and everything.
I'm looking...I'm looking...I see a computer, a door, a chair, a load of old papers I haven't thrown away, my backyard, the kitchen...CB is right, there is obvious proof that God exists. You may chose not to believe this but look around you!

Which "we" might you be talking about here?God is a concept, by which we fill our need for hope.
