Rebalanced TankDork sounds for TT guns

Post by Reagent X »

I've had a number of questions about the modded sounds I used in the PSL11 championship movie. These sounds were originally put together by TankDork. Baba sent them to me after I heard them at the West Coast Think Tanks Convention. The sounds add a realistic edge and make the game more intense and fun. The problem was the area effect was too loud compared to the regular bullet sounds so you couldnt crank it up. I rebalanced the sound levels using SoundStudio and I think it is perfect now. You can really crank up the volume! The bullet sounds are very "urban street gang-ish" and the area effect is like "oh mommy!"

Enjoy the sounds here! Unzip the attached folder and then drop the 3 sound files into your game/data/sounds folder (you will be replacing the original sound files). :drive:

I will move this to modding in a few days...

I am replacing my area explode sound with this new one, since the original can be too loud sometimes. I like the sci fi effecting sound of the new area explode file. I am keeping the original projectile sound, since it's more appropriate for tanks. So 2 out of 3 ain't bad. My tanks and I thank you.

Hehe yeah I've been using the great Tank Dork's sounds for years now.
That area effects one does throttle the ear drums...
I've been thrown out of my bedroom a few times using those.
(of course I always get invited back in...)
Ear phones saved my marriage and late night TT playing.

Glad you are getting it circulation again.

All hail Tank Dork (founder of the Psycho Scrum League - on a historical note!)
All hail RX while you are at it.

Skookum sounds there RX, I like them. But that area effect kinda sounds like a wheezy sneeze though, lol.
