As you all know ptt2 was recently down again.
Thanks to a great effort (financial and time) by Doc Sawbones it's up and running again.
However Doc needs the community to help her here.
The financial outlay this time was considerable.
Severely impacting her ability to continue the site much longer.
This would be eased by more donations (see tab on upper right)
No size donation is too large (or too small).
Please help Doc help us keep this important piece of the Think tanks community going and contribute!

Re: Urgent HELP needed to keep PTT2 up and running
I'll let Doc post details of both as she chooses.
What I do know is that there was some sort of security breach that compromised the website, and that she had to dig deep out of pocket to correct and provide a more secure environment for her hosting in the future.
That doesn't even get into the amount of time she has had to divert into this fix-up, that has taken away from her being able to work, that has put her more in the hole financially.
There are ongoing monthly costs for the website, is my understanding as well as one time costs to fix the security breach.

Re: Urgent HELP needed to keep PTT2 up and running
The other PTT2 that was used in the interim between PTT1 and PTT2 is still up and running and as I understand it's free of charge. I don't know all of the details, but why couldn't something like that be used?
Maybe not all the bells and whistles, but free sounds much better.

^^ Thanks Baba, you got it on target with your over view.
^ Dad, the reason we don't use free forum sites are many, but mainly branding*.
1. Free forum sites have ads all over them (and viruses in some cases) that would not pay us ad revenue.
So therefore, they aren't really free, and their functionality for features like keeping top post or shout box are null or min.
2. branding * As a marketing professional, and on behalf of the entire TT world, if this community/game/planet is to
stay in existence/thrive, or diminish, it's all about our presence on the web.
3. Alot of the features (most of which are not functioning right now) are what brings in and keeps people around long enough to want to stay.
nuff on that topic...
ANNOUNCEMENTS
PTT2 Reloaded the team was working on is going to go live probably on Tuesday with any luck.
There's a Security Team coming in hopefully tomorrow to lockdown the server.
I have ordered them to disable ALL sites that they find vulnerable.
xx

Ox (and others) the link on the upper right of this page goes to PayPal and it worked fine for me, I think PayPal is easiest.
Thanks for your support.

Re: Urgent HELP needed to keep PTT2 up and running
can we get an idea as to what an appropriate donation per member would be?
i am on a tight budget but have extra money atm. i will definitely donate but i would hate to spend money that would ultimately not help in creating a solution to the problem. if i knew the scope...i may be able to dig deeper.
