First, I love the idea of a freeware sharing forum... being cheap, I like good cheap software. Here's a big time favorite. I think I've been using it for more than a decade.
GraphicConverter is a Macintosh program that allows you to convert image files between tons of formats. It also allows you to do graphic editing. It's not photoshop, it's not as powerful as Gimp, but it sure is a handy tool. I probably use it at least 5 times a week for simple graphic edits.
