ACASv3 Observer Update (BETA)!

Post by ArtCrazy »

I have added the "/follow" command to my observer script. It lets you follow a tank, the flag or the scrum goal.
This is something I discovered while playing around with the CTF script...

Current syntax is:
/obs - Toggle Observing (if you start observing you'll be in the last mode you were on)
/follow fly - Start Free-fly mode
/follow flag DISTANCE - Start following flag, keep a distance of DISTANCE from the flag
/follow goal DISTANCE - Start following goal, keep a distance of DISTANCE from the goal
/follow NAME DISTANCE - start following NAME's tank, keep a distance of DISTANCE from that tank

In case you are not observing /follow automatically starts observing but you'll need to use the /obs command to exit.
You will need to use the command again if the player you are following dies! You do not need to do this for the flag and the goal tough.

IMO, this will be great for recording :)
Just place this file in the Codes folder and delete the existing Observer.cs and Observer.cs.dso. Configure the permissions for the new code in the ACASv3 Options (as by default no one can use it)
Currently this is closed-source as it's a BETA and might have some bugs, so install only if you want. It ONLY works with ACASv3!

Enjoy!

EDIT: Updated the script with a fix for the GUI-Arguments.

Wow - sounds very cool!

I will definitely check it out. Maybe we can use this for the PSLXV movie!

Sweet! This will be useful for me.
EDIT: Everything works fine for me just 3 things. There is a mistake in the GUI arguments so every time you use the GUI it messages you giving you that error. Second thing is the follow goal doesn't allow you to set a distance for it. Last one, you can't get out of the "fly" mode through typing /fly or through the GUI, you have to type /obs
First to fall, last man standing.

@ RX

You will love this little gem, use the follow flag @ 50 or 75 and all your filming dreams will have come true. Was playing about with this today with Art and was truly impressed, I think you will be as well.

I didn't test the GUI arguments for this one, so I'll see into this, as for the goal distance, it lets you set it, you just have to move the mouse a bit...
As for exiting any mode, you have to use /obs since it's the only command that'll EXIT Observer in case it's on. /follow fly is simply to reset the free-flying mode in case you want to observe normally WITHOUT exiting.

From the GUI

when i click on follow observer, and it brings up the window, i can put in fly, but then it asks for a distance. It seems to me, that putting in a number in the distance box, does not have a effect on things.

Just to let you know

Well, there's no problem with that lol, just that I cant easily tell ACAS to only show the distance window in case the other argument wasn't "fly".
