Sorry if the text is messed up i need to work on my placement for the text because idk which way to face it. If anyone could give me a link to someone who made a skin and put the text in correctly could you please link it.

Hm... The way you used different hues for different parts of the tank is cool, but other than that, it looks like a few random GIMP patterns thrown together. Plus, are you sure you have "SA" on there enough times?

yea DJ it was really just a way to see how the text worked not necessarily to work good. does anyone know someone who made a skin with text on it i could base my skins off of?

Try making the different color patterns on two different layers, and then using the erase tool on the top layer to show through the bottom layer. Also, try to use some sort of color scheme. Pick a couple colors that look good together, and try not to use any other colors. If you suffer from a bad case of the ColorClashers like me, you'll need this: http://kuler.adobe.com/

that's worthless information to me. This was a 5 minute draw, it wasn't supposed to be pretty.

I was trying to give you advice on how to make a 10 minute tank skin. And do not underestimate the power of a color scheme. Some pattern based skins can actually look decent if you make them the right colors. I personally spend half my life on Kuler, simply because I have trouble coming up with schemes of my own. It's not something to be ashamed of.

Oh, and if you reading this, fishtank ::waves hand:: look at me being productive! :D

you just threw random gimp patterns =/ you can do better Xfactor well atleast you tried try making your own designs and not try to use gimp patterns. Listen to the pro skinners. I might not be a "pro" but trust me take my advise.
