I don't think I have the words to say what i want to say...
But, I'm enjoying the art-tangent.

I mean, this image has the obvious symbolic image of 'jesus' in it. But what happens if you extract the idea of jesus from the image altogether.
How would it be read if you had lived your life without ever coming into contact with the gospel of jesus at all, only to be confronted with this image? How does it change the fundamental ideas and ideals put forward?
I mean, in todays world, are we NOT getting further from organised religion, and these cultural associations of religion are getting more and more irrelevant? How do you connect with god, outwith doing what your told, doing what other people are expecting you to do.
What's the relevance of the hypercube? How do you read it if you are not aware of what a hypercube is? What is the hypercube is representing?
I mean, if god is REALLY that which was post-big bang, that which is the creation of something from nothing; that which is the exception from cause and effect. The one TRUE question, and the one ONLY question. WHY?
But, I'm enjoying the art-tangent.
And i think Hugo is touching on what I am getting atFor there's an incommensurable loneliness of Man in the universe.
Anyway, what's is it so hard to admit that matter is sentient - in its own way?
For me God is the sentient component of the Universe. - hugo

I'm just curious of people's reactions to THIS, in the "what is god" argument. Does noone else find organised religion a little bit stifling? Do you really need a middle-man to connect with the divine; with the creator?Truly a glimpse in what higher Art can be - a window on the divine. - hugo

Hey Bloop. Nice Dali picture; with Gala looking... Just bought a book of Dali's writing. Very fun.
'The only difference between a crazy man and me is that I'm not crazy', etc.
Organized religion is necessary since most people don't have much time to think about the stuff. We have most time to think when we're students; after that most people's intellectual life fade away (work, family, lack of interest, time, etc.) and the 'big questions' get increasingly irrelevant in their lives. Especially the abstract parts of those questions, wich need time, slowness, thinking and studies - not to mention a 'spiritual community', i.e. people to exchange with and receive feedbacks from.
Yet everyone need a bit of 'spiritual content' in their lives; that's when 'organized religion' kicks in. 'Religion' as a word after all comes from 'to link/tie/fasten together':
''Origin: 1150–1200; ME religioun (< OF religion) < L religi?n- (s. of religi?) conscientiousness, piety, equiv. to relig(?re) to tie, fasten (re- re- + lig?re to bind, tie; cf. ligament) + -i?n- -ion; cf. rely]''
be it the Sunday Church, Bible groups, etc.
I have a friend who is 'born-again', and for her spirituality is not an individual experience as much as a gregarious (group) experience. For me, spirituality is something very individual and private; but then also I've never been fond of gregarious activities, be it sports, etc.
