Ah, the old "ghetto scrum" type.

I'm pretty much in agreement with THE V on this one. Getting shot up as you drive to get the ball just makes the game less fun. If you're pretty close to the ball (a few tanks close) I'm not likely to complain. We have a pretty standard agreement in the community that blasting the arse off the tanks as they drive in Indy scrum just won't fly.

If you want to play that way, try TS or Battlemode... it's OK there. Also OK in CTF.

I'd appreciate your cooperation. I'd also like you to think about threatening to use spoofing or proxy servers... could explain lousy connection times. It's also just not cool to threaten people with that kind of thing. We provide the servers. If you want to run a "ghetto scrum" server, go ahead, but don't expect us to put up with it in our servers.

Also, how much skill does it take to blast someone's butt off? The game's better without it.

You remind me of woohoo... I'm not looking forward to meeting you in game. Woo is an ass shooter just like you and is one of the least liked people in the game. so here's how I see it:

1: You can keep ass shooting and be hated.
2: You can get banned from most servers in the game including mine.
3: Continue ass shooting like woo and I'll shoot back, I doubt you would like it.
4: You can STOP ass shooting and learn to play like a real man does, gain some respect in the process.

Like I said cool story bro, nobody gives respect for the returning player but I don't mind that I was never liked in the first place. It seems that my antics stick to me regardless of who I am.

You know what I'd rather not have a bad name, so forget this thread I'll just play once in a while, and skin and mod the rest. It's like 2 vs. 30 its not even a battle worth fighting for.

i always found this issue to be kinda funny. the asshats...i mean ass shooters never seemed to win when facing real scrum players anyway so it never bothered me much. it was only ever slightly annoying. if anyone ever got over the top with it i would just turn around and own them anyway...and then turn around and score despite them.

bottom line for me was that it took more skill and was a greater challenge to only shoot the scrum carrier, try to steal, and score while being blasted by other players. it was alot more fun to me to play the so called "powder puff" way. if you were really good at scrum, ass shooting was way too easy and got really boring. but if you cant aim properly, cant maneuver in a pack, and dont know how to escape with the scrum i can see why you would want to ass shoot other players.

as fishtank said this type of play is easier to get away with at i.a. frowned upon, but easier to get away with. also one of the reasons i stopped playing there.

When players do that kinda gameplay in regular scrum, the game automatically switches to battlemode fer me and I start shooting not as much to win the game as to just shoot you. Might as well be a battlemode game at that point. TS, CTF & BM all allow this sort of gameplay as mentioned previous so what does it hurt to follow the rules for this one gametype? Playing your way drains the life out of the game. If everyone followed the same play as you, I promise you wouldn't like it. Since they aren't, you are just trying to gain an unfair advantage which may soothe your ego but get you nowhere in the minds of others.
