Hello tankers. My name is Alex and I've been playing TT for a while under the name of "danger". I just recently changed it to dooty_poo and will be using that from now on. This is my first post here. Ok so I have an idea that I would like to share and see what you guys think.

I would love to play in a TBM server where there are no individual scores and only team scores are shown. Here are the reasons I think this is a good idea.

-I think players will stick around till the end of a game more often if only team points are shown. I've been in games where teams start out just fine but near the end only the top 3 or 4 scorers are still playing. It seems alot of players will leave a game early if they aren't happy with their individual scores.

-Players will focus more on team points and eliminate teammates from going at each other because someone took someone else's kill.

-I'm also hoping that this will maybe stop those annoying players that taunt other players when they happen to be having a particularly good game and have more points than others. I'm sure you've all see them. The funny thing is when a better player comes around and kicks the annoying players' butt. The annoying player will then complain about lag and leave hahahaha.

Very good idea! I for one definitely care more about my personal score in TBM. If it was only team score, it would turn the play style into more of a "League setting" where no matter how high your personal score, your success is based solely on how your team does.

UPDATE: It's live. The scores say "DISABLED" when changed. Have fun, and tell me if it doesn't show up on the list!

OMG this is a great idea!!! btw DJ your script works . it would be nice to have a script like this on a non-modded sever like Dash or CB's.

It's not hard, just add one line to the incScore() function in tank2.cs. It should look like this:

Add it just before the last block, the one about messages.

i think that it's important to have personal scores. i think it's a cool idea, and may shrug off some noobs, but for those of us that don't abuse score, it's not that appealing. maybe if it was possible for an admin to toggle it on/off. if there are tons of noobs, off, but with sensible players, on. it is a nice little feature, and i wouldn't mind playing with it, but it shouldn't go without a second thought.

its never been an issue for me, sure, its great that you can keep your own personal score up there, but always gotta remember what the goal of a Team game is about.

anyways... I find that the personal score of each individual, often times reflects how good, or bad, your overall team score will be.

An old idea here, but its a good idea which I've always liked. In any team game (not limited to TBM), the team is all that counts. The individual means nothing, and that should be reflected in the scoring. Not to say that its not fun to see that your score is the highest one there... but that's not the point of the game, so why not eliminate even the thought of personal scores? If you want individual scores, go to a server without the script. It will get rid of the "team" players who play more for personal glory.
