Hello fellow Think Tankers!

I am shopping for a new anti virus program for my computer.

You all are so knowledgeable regarding this subject, so I thought I would ask my friends here on TT2.

Any good suggestions for a Hillbilly?

I have always liked PC Security Shield and it's on sale, it includes The Shield Personal Firewall.

Webroot Spy Sweeper, I got no errors, and it deleted over 1500 some spyware and 1 trojan in a year

Stay away from Norton. Even though popular, it's ineffective.

Spyware Doctor, Spy Sweeper, McAfee, and AVG are all good choices. If you are a casual PC user who downloads a lot and plays games every now and then, get one of those. Most have Real-time scanning, which is constantly looking through your drive and scanning things. If it finds anything it should alert you and ask if you want to fix it.

I just stick with Spybot Search and Destroy, and the whole Mcafee package. It comes bundled with comcast, so it's a pretty good deal...

I once had that. When I tried to install norton, it started giving me errors like a PC with no motherboard.

And DO NOT get Micro Trend PC-Cillin. It gives strange errors, freezes many of my programs (I have that one now)
