Re: Trout vs Funk game
Funk only had 2 show , so we played exhibition games and will attempt to reschedule.
I believe Blind Cide will start a thread to that end.
Please both team members post times that are good or bad in the next couple weeks.
If the reschedule is not possible then trout, reluctantly , takes the forfeit.

Re: PsychoScrum League Season 16: Season Mode
Funk only had 2 show, so we borrowed Gray and then Baba from Trout for an unofficial 3v3. I've never seen a big point spread at the end of a game on Halitosis Hill, but game 1 was almost a blowout. I have to figure it was a weird fluke, but being the one that scored more points than everyone else put together I'll admit I've spent a lot of time on this map. Oh, and I had taken some vigilance medication just before the game. Game 2 was the normal 2 point spread and very fun. I really like Halitosis Hill and think it would be a shame not to play a real match there.
I'm going to start a thread about rescheduling the match.

I have no idea why we went with 4v3. 3v3 would have made so much more sense... better than being double teamed each and every time.get some wrote:disappointing outcome for what to me seemed like a much anticipated matchup tonight. we only had 3 show, it was decided to play a 4 on 3 and we quickly rediscovered how pointless that type of game is.
I think this has been the one and only road bump in our season for the Wonder Boys, and wow was it a doozy!

^ Read the rules.
I have to sit 2 people every game. I have at least 5 show for every game. I see no need to penalize my people (further) because others are unable or unwilling to fill the role they have chosen for PSL, whether that be captain, regular player, or pine rider.
My team only had slightly more fun than yours, as we wanted a full game. We take no joy in this.
I believe, in part, this is why the rules are written the way they are. I can write several paragraphs on this, but I will keep it succinct and end it here. Further comments about this specific match will result in a logical pwning from me.

Re: PsychoScrum League Season 16: Season Mode
the bonus point rule for even matches has long been a problem in my book because of this specific situation. a team shows at full strength and ends up losing a potential point through no fault of their own. i understand the bonus point is there to encourage even matches, because lets face it...uneven matches are a complete waste of time for everyone.
attendance seems to be more of an issue this season than in the past. more often than not the team at full strength has been gracious enough to play an even match, sometimes to their detriment. to me it is the more desirable decision as it keeps the game fun but it is pretty unfair to the team that shows at full strength.
my suggestion would be this...a rule change that says all games must be played with even teams but no less than a 3 on 3. if one team shows with four they are automatically awarded the bonus point and the team who showed without a full roster is penalized 1 point. the 4 points can then be played for at even strength with a W=2 points T=1 point and a L=0 points. scenarios would look like the following:
Team A = Full Roster Team B = Deadbeats
Team A WW = 5 points (4 points + 1 for full attendance)
Team B WW = 3 points (4 points - 1 for poor attendance)
Team A WT = 4 points (3 points + 1 for full attendance)
Team B WT = 2 points (3 points - 1 for poor attendance)
Team A TT = 3 points (2 points + 1 for full attendance)
Team B TT = 1 point (2 points - 1 for poor attendance)
Team A TL = 2 points (1 point + 1 for full attendance)
Team B TL = 0 points (1 point - 1 for poor attendance)
Team A LL = 1 point (0 points + 1 for full attendance)
Team B LL = -1 point (0 points - 1 for poor attendance)
if a forfeit takes place because one team showed with 2 players or less then the team showing at full strength should get all 5 points and the deadbeat team gets -1 point.
under this rule change the emphasis is on encouraging even matches so that no ones time is wasted and games remain fun but the team that showed with a full roster isnt unfairly penalized through the actions of another team. The bonus point being rewarded to the team who showed at full strength and the team that did not is fairly penalized a point. if both teams show at full strength then the bonus point can be played for under the normal scoring rules.
now, that being said, i feel bad that our team created this situation last night and wasted peoples time, but i dont feel it warranted dirt being kicked in the faces of those of us that did show. none of us are noobs here, we have been doing this long enough together to at least be shown some courtesy. it was bad enough to be stomped on badly during the game ( i think it was called at 9 to 0 after about 10 minutes ) but the spat that happened afterwards was unnecessary. i understand the frustration of the opposing team ( i have felt the same way ) but i have enough respect for all of you not to make it personal.
anyway, like feathers said, this is most likely a freak blip on the radar for our team as Dj and Rx are committed to playing. we will discuss amongst our team if we need to make an addittion, but that begs the question...is anyone in the draft pool even around to play? Snow is notoriously MIA and i thought Supra was out for a while for one reason or another. even if both teams wanted to add a 6th player...who would we add?

Re: PsychoScrum League Season 16: Season Mode
I think getsome's rule suggestion re: 3v3 is a good one, and should be actively debated for next season. I also expect a discussion re: full PSL pool drafting as well (i.e. if you have the chance to take 5, you take 5).
I specifically drafted my team with attendance (and naturally ability) in mind, knowing full well I would only have a team of 5. When two teams passed on their 5th pick, Smacky and I grabbed them.
No one kicked dirt in your face. I offered that we cease playing at 8-0, in order to save EVERYONE some time. I even prefaced the comment that it was done solely for that reason - to save time.
After the suggestion, t34 and Feathers started complaining, at which point I tried to impart some logic to them. As Smacky has indicated, if you chose to have a 5 man team, you chose the fate associated with it. As I mentioned last night, t34 made the bed - unfortunately, the entire team must lie in it, for better or worse.

If you are citing Funk here, I'll point out that I picked 6 but Sniper wasn't the real one and never showed. I should get the next ringer from the pool in compensation at this point.Smacky wrote:Oddly enough, the two teams that had trouble filling a full roster CONCIOUSLY decided on only drafting 5 players instead of 6.
