need help with dedicated sever

ok i cant find any help on the forums to tell me what i have to do to start up a dedicated sever! i would like to start one but.... i dont know how to! can anybody help me? a little off topic i need some help modding as well

But Ice, if you won't search, don't just look on the front page of the forum. go back a few pages and see if you find something. do that in the Modding forum, you'll probably get a post about it, Help or again Modding forum and you'll again probably get a post about it or a post that has a reply about it. but best is just to search. so next time search twice and ask once!

ok thx i saw the post but i didn't buy the game from bravetree i bought it from shockwave. therefore i dont have thoses shortcuts to starting a dedicated sever. what can i do?

Then look for the Shockwave File.

MyComputer/LocalDisk/Program Files/Shockwave/ThinkTanks
then go on from there.

Jeez allright...

Go to C:/Porgram files/ShockWave/ThinkTanks/Dedicated/

Then you will see some Batch files (MS DOS)

Here are examples :

TT1_1BM : Medulla Mesa BattleMode
TT1_1TB : Medulla Mesa TeamBattle
TT1_1S : Medulla Mesa Scrum
TT1_1TS : Medulla Mesa TeamScrum

TT1_2BM : Hypothalamus Hills BattleMode
TT1_2TB : Hypothalamus Hills TeamBattle


NOTE: BM is "BattleMode", TB is "TeamBattle" or "TeamBattleMode", S is "Scrum", TS is "Team Scrum"

Open C:/Program files/ShockWave/ThinkTanks/dedicated/mission

and you'll see all the Maps... to change the server name of the dedicated server just move in :

game/server/prefs.cs and change names of what you want...

or is it game/client/prefs.cs I'm not sure

anyway... if you want your dedicated server unlocked just delete the following in your prefs : (it's with big letters)

$pref::Server::SavePassword = "Metal"; also... delete what is in it...
