Wut? Sarcasm? Day and/or two? Huh? Maybe you should take a day and/or two off the Canadian special sauce and spend some time with coherency.
Where would the tanks spawn? Seems that with two goals, the odds of fb's might increase.

Nuts developed the 2 goal script and it worked, right away there was interest in it but it soon faded, it actually increased the fb's, not everyone respawn's after a made goal. Tiz a great idea in theory, maybe he still has the script and he could run it on his server again so you all can run it for yourselves.

And on a side note: Dazzle is so close to finishing the CTF maps its not even funny, he has really put some work into them, and is doing everything he can to make them 100% accurate as the originals. I see some folks coming back to tt once these are running on dashs's server.

I want to get back to Blind Cide's post-
This is some interesting discussion about how to maximize league fun. To that effect, I would like to suggest that PSL maps should be thoroughly tested in public TS for long enough that, at the very least, everybody knows them well. It is only then that we can know what kind of game-play a map encourages.
This makes a lot of sense to me. I'd see it helpful in a couple of ways. First, it's a really good idea for straightening out any issues with maps. Would prevent the ball spawning in too close to the edge and bouncing off, or too high so it bounces off. You could find out whether the spawns balance, etc.

A second bigger idea would be to promote the league. Personally, I don't think some people jump right into PSL because the maps are not familiar. I know that's true in my case. I understand wanting to have maps dedicated to the league, but running a server for a few weeks with proposed maps on a TS server would give people a chance to see them, and may draw some of them into the league. At the same time, the maps get tested, could be tweaked, and then would be ready to roll.

Give it some thought.

Just an FYI
The maps were tested over a 6 week period
The call for participation was made on PTT
Many came and voiced opinions and many changes were made

In addition the entire 15 map rotation was previewed,
for a week at a clip, 3 other times in my server since
November 2008.....

Granted, edge goals are tough to make perfect - especially since sometimes
the flag will spawn with "momentum" from the previous goal.

I made this last set, not only as a final hurrah for the peeps that
gave me so many laughs, but also as a challenge for those long time
vets who have seen so much that playing well is like....breathing.

The mods are fast and tricky and some even have a gotcha here and there.
As with any league and perhaps especially this time i say....
"Its your personal resposibility each week to know your map....!"

I don't know where some of you guys have been, like Roo said he hosted these maps for 6 weeks, the server name was PSL 16 maps I believe in big bold letters. Most likely reason peeps did not look at the maps were 1 of 3 reasons. First you are not on Roo's huge mailing list that he sends out the terrain files so you can load them into your missions folder and get right in. 2nd you "are" on the mailing list and are to lazy or do not know how to load them in your missions folder. Or 3 you just don't want to spend the time loading them from the server side.

Point being Roo always has the maps up 3 or 4 months prior to the league, and like he said above, posts here on ptt2 and runs them for at least a month. And just a side note, we are all a bunch of spoiled brats when it comes to mods, roo has spoiled the hell out of us over the last 4 plus years with new maps. He's retired now, where are the PSL 17 maps going to come from, will PSL 17 maps be anywhere close to as well done as the previous PSL maps?

Hahahahaa!!! Good one Smack....

Cut out all the douchiness and lets scrum

my complaint with roos maps is this:
In the south west corner of Spinal Tap the black rock that juts out of the green grass is too pointed , I think that shape clashes with the deep blue background and as such is distracting when I am being mercilessly shot to death by Phobik , Smacky and the whole horde of low pinging easterners.
Other than that they are great.

Once again , thanks again roo!

Yah know what would really help things out? Eatin' my arse.

No improvements needed. You tools would just turn PSL into Caddy Shack 2 anyway.

These maps are awesome. The only thing I would suggest, and it's only a theory. As far as the spawning, scrum and tank. Do the elements fall from the sky in relation to the ceiling height in the mission file? I always wondered what determined "from how high" these items fell.

The reason I ask is it seems like there are some instances in which the scrum is really moving and I think the velocity of the fall carries it a bit.

If the items fell from a somewhat lower height, you might not have as much travel and out of bounds spawns.

Get used to the freebies, they will be here forever. Has anyone ever given back a freebie they received?

@Rx:
I just found out that Sniper never signed up for PSL, so please take his name off the Bolonious Funk roster.

The most fun I've had in PSL has been on maps that I have experience on. The best way to get experience on a map is if it is well played in public TS. These maps are unknown to me and hence my PSL experience this season has been less enjoyable.

Anyone up for picking and hosting next season's PSL maps ASAP?

I'm on vacation right now, using the in-law's neighbor's wireless.

When I get back, I'd be willing to do that. My server's off until I get back.
