I have been enjoying an occasional game in Keepaway on my server, but I notice a real issue. I'm hoping you all can help.
There seems to be a problem with consecutive games running. As more games run consecutively, the problem gets worse. From the player point of view, the game gets progressively laggier and then reaches a point of unplayable. If you leave after a game and return, all is fine. If you stay in between games, it happens. I also noticed as you stay in, the scores of the next games get higher.
I first thought it was the computer, but have disabled different scripts to see what effect that has. I noticed a playability gain with the chat logger off. Otherwise, no big gains from turning off scripts. The server runs just fine with indy scrum games. I'm thinking the problem is with the keepaway script itself.
I played some games and took screenies at the end of the games to see if there was any change in how many points you get per unit time. Here's some numbers- (i was playing about the same level of holding the scrum in each game)
First game- at 890 seconds, I took a pic. My score was 581.2 (that's 0.65 points per second)
Second game- at 892 seconds, I took a pic. My score was 1034.7 (that's 1.16 points per second)
Third game- at 892 seconds, I took a pic. My score was 1521.3 (that's 1.71 points per second)
Fourth game, took several time samples and used the elapsed time to figure points per second. It was about 2.9 points per second.
As I went from game to game, lag worsened. By the fifth game, I couldn't play anymore. I drove right through the bot that had the ball. In that game, I took a pic after 45 seconds. The bot score was 161.5 (a whopping 3.59 points per second)
Does anyone have any idea how the timer is getting messed up? Any idea how to make the thing fully reset between games so it would be like joining for the first game? I don't understand how I can get more points than there are seconds in a game....

Calling Art and Warfare......
LGM, I am not sure but I think I have a version of keep away by Canned Splam, although I have never run it on my server I played many games when he used to host it and never experienced what you describe, so let me see if I still have it and i can mail it to you see if that helps.

I would like to look at the script you're using. Maybe it's creating some weird object that isnt deleted properly... Another more probable option is that the "gametype loop" is being started anew everytime the mission ends, while the old one isn't stopped, so in the 2nd game you got 2 loops running, 3rd game it's 3, etc. Not sure tough, I'd have to look at the code.

Art, I'll send you a PM with the code.
Daz- if you have CS's script, I'd be glad to try it. I was looking for his originally.
Thanks guys...

Re: Puzzling problem with Keepaway
I'd suggest you try CS's script since WF's script seems to have a weird design (that might be causing this bug). If this doesn't fix it I'll try editing it to fix it but that might actually end up changing most of the script...

Thanks for taking a look, Art.
I got CS's script from Dazzle, and it seems to work fine.
I have to run a scrum game, but this script lets the goals appear. Do I need to edit one of the other files to take out the goal spawn points? How?

Re: Puzzling problem with Keepaway
Good news-
Played a string of games today, and no lag appeared. Also, the score seems to correspond more closely with the time.
Thanks for the help!
