i fart lag bombs. i cut my teeth playing from japan (started 10/03) with an average ping above 200. geography has conspired against us scythe; we've never had the chance to play together...

i don't mean to paint you all with a broad brush. cannon's hyperbole got me rolling. he's talked smack on me twice outta the blue, and he's never even played with me. talking about guns! he has no idea. TS isn't about guns. its about how it all comes together. we eat the "BM only guys" for breakfast. bring your dumb BM to a TS server with top talent and you will soon know your place. Belikin has a deadly gun...what makes him an impact player is the fact that he understands the game. Goodbye, a new TSer, but old BMer, hasn't figured it out yet. though they are both awesome shooters, i diss goodbye at the goal in one-on-ones. i don't make that mistake w/Bel. (goodbye is on his way though...)

i'll see if i can interest Rx and magenta in a battle of the antipodes W.Coast vs Euros in some High Ping Mahem!

Oh man, I want a high ping too! Can I play?

I feel so left-out having a good connection....

suffer the low ping.

nightly recap: same as usual...except: Paisano showed up!!! it was a GD mess...he prattled on and on about what an As.s he used to be, said he'd seen the light, etc. boring stuff like that.

also: Please take your personal feuds to the lot behind the church. i'm tired of the verbal berating while i'm playing TS. you know who you are (meat puppet vs. ibot).

kidding...i mean yin vs. yang. get it over with already.

@ Stink:
Agreed, Bel has great guns and I also agree that what makes him an "impact vet" is how much he understands this game. I am in no way a BM-player, but with ping the gun is not the only thing that will fail. Reaction time has to get a lot quicker too. All I meant is that Bel would be blown away from the goal because he isn't able to deal with lag the way you and me have learned to do.

We actually have played together, and completely overpowered the other team. In the same way have I played with Belikin and wOOt. But heck, don't take my word for it. Come and face us.

You, in your arrogance, have insulted me more times then you think. You did paint me together with the "broad bush" I ll name the 2 I can think of right now.
1) The fact that you can think I do not realize that Indy is not Team Scrum.
2) And that you stated that I am a BM-player, I have left the TBM scene more then 3 years ago and took it all to scrum.

Maybe you want to claim that I have absolutely no sense for teamplay? That I am pissed because I am not on your list (which is missing a whole lot "impact vets")?

So Woot, Stink, Bel? or maybe nappy wants in :), but that is up to you.
I advise you to take wOOt though, he has played in european servers. And he actually knows what he s getting into.

sounds like piss and vinegar. so i'm going to play you in a euro server? from the west coast? and ping like 300? i don't think so.

if you mean to take offense, i can't stop you. just to clarify, my comments were mostly directed at Cannon, and you only recently came into my radar. i do remember you in a couple of games recently. sorry, its all bluring together...think it may have been roos? you are over analyzing my comments. never said you don't know the difference between indy and Ts. you're extrapolating. pretty big chip on your shoulder there, eh?

why don't you make my list of impact players? because i was listing Scrumbag impact players. I've NEVER seen you in there (although perhaps you made it in a couple of times...) i have no real basis to judge you. my list is not an exhaustive list of TS impact players...its Scrumbag only. i know Lone Wolf is an awesome player, but didn't put him on my list cause he doesn't play there much lately.

we could do a 3v3 in as neutral a spot as we can find. again, best way to determine your worth is in an on-going venue. its unfortunate that current technologies don't allow for equal opportunities.

i'm not unsympathetic to what you are saying. i had to play the entire PSL season on servers that put me at a distinct disadvantage. gone were my fire rate and response time. i became a glorified "team" guy, blocking, passing and intercepting as best i could. i'm a goal who.re diva in scrumbag.

step away from the rancor: it's like this -- Cannon talked smack on my game outta the blue cause he's seeing my name come up in these threads and he's being petty or provocative. i responded. he's gonna get what's coming to him, and you can be a part of that if you like, cause it's Team scrum, and that's how we roll.
You, in your arrogance,
...don't misunderstand me: he's talking shite, and i'm calling him on it.

i use to play on a machine with a connection that gave me horrible lag especially on larger maps so i have reference to playing with high ping. that being said i have never seen the point of complaining about connection or ping (even when it was bad for me). to me its like in the NFL when a dome team has to travel to Green Bay to play the packers in December. sure its probably not fair but complaining about it wont win the game. the real question is are you good enough to overcome any circumstances and still come out on top?

this has been my approach to the game over the last 4 years playing. if another player is lagging bad i dont complain i adjust my play. if i am lagging i dont complain i adjust my play. if another player has better fire rate i dont complain i adjust my play. as a noob i would actively seek out the best player in the server and challenge them and to some degree still do that. do that enough against the likes of Bolo, Tally Ho, Lc50, the Professor, Tankor, Breaka, etc etc and you will most certainly get better. not because your fire rate increases or your ping gets better but because you get smarter.

ill use rogue as an example here...rogue is a very smart player. you may not be impressed with his fire rate and he may not wow you with aerial goals or impress you with unreal jukes but that guy will play with very few mistakes throughout a match. with the right supporting cast around a player like rogue and you have a really tough team to beat. i still feel like i play like crap generally but i know i can get away with it when i have rogue around to clean up my mistakes ( which he generally does ). rogue will do whatever it takes to beat you. what he knows and many other newer players dont understand yet is that winning in team scrum isnt guaranteed by a big gun and insane acrobatic abilities...winning is guaranteed by blocking, passing, and having an really good sense of where everyone is on the field. t34 is another player like this...both are players to build championship teams around.

its nice to get respect from other players but if you think im good because i have great fire rate, or my ping is low, or i can throw up an aerial goal then you are not understanding the subtleties of team scrum. when i go off on my own and try to rely solely on my guns and driving i feel im average at best and am often prone to mistakes. when i play with my team mates and rely on the blocking and passing of both me and my team then i know im gonna win...no matter who the other team has. Mayo displayed this the second half of the last PSL season. first half we were very beatable (as evidence of pretty much everyone beating us). second half was a different story as we started playing as a team and putting the emphasis on blocking, passing, and being smart about when to kill someone and when not to. we knew we were going to score the question was could we stop anyone from scoring on us?

someone recently coined the term "play better" and it has been mixed in with the trash talk and discussions here and in the servers. i think its meant as a good hearted jab to the losing team but it really boils down to just that...play better. whatever that means for your particular situation. the best players just play better regardless. everyone else is just complaining.

Get,

I in no way meant to say that you are a connection player. That said, I have the same values in Team Scrum that you list and have been playing that way for a long time (ask those that can know). This debate with Stinky has pulled me out of character and into a trashtalker who I am not.

That said, I agree with your whole post. Now lets close this discussion down and get everything back "on topic".

For those interested, the game is on. Me and Stinky are talking about it in pms now.

that's an excellent post^^by getsome. i feel the same way about how i fit in. it isn't about me, it's about how we work as a team. for example, i really don't mind losing, but I FREAKING HATE losing because of bad team play. i hate it. i can lose good games all night long and want more. but crappy team play makes me cuss. ask Rx and woot about that...

lately i'm scoring like mad cause my team mates are putting me in a position to do so. that's all there is to it. when i play with another goal diva (Get some, Dj, Rx, magenta) i play very differenlty: i look to set them up. seriously. i love that role too. Mayo was a study in journeyman team play. no divas, just solid, consistent team play.

making this a personal thing is so stoopid. sorry cannon...this is a team game. you wanna know where you fit on the pecking order? that's a moving target. the only way to gauge it is by playing well, often. it's fun to talk smack, but in the end...no one game will define you. you're only as good as your last game.

Blummin eck lads, I slip in some gay banter & you lot get all serious & take some of my comments said mostly tongue in cheek seriously.

Get one thing straight first, I am in no way trying to blow my own trumpet. I love to joust comments with Stink & the likes because for one thing he actually replies to my posts for one, also most of the replies have a base of intelligence. Many of my comments were intended to draw some debate & stir you lads up a bit.

Second, I have never moaned about my ping. I may have done a year or more ago, but I just roll with it learn & observe.

GS has the nail on the head as usual, it's not the individual it's the team. Thats what I was hinting at with Bolo (ducks).

Oh & I never said Goodbye was a great TSer yet, just that his guns were handy. Once he has the blocking & stuff sorted he will be a force.
...don't misunderstand me: he's talking shite, and i'm calling him on it.
I have done this all my life, can't help myself & long may it continue. I need to keep the wife on her toes. Not taking anything said personally, all is good. Will always love ya Stink.
Cannon...come meet my new video card.
Looking forward to it... Get the crappy music loaded onto that MP3 player & be ready.

@ Nap - Can you stand up in court & say I have only played in Scrumbag a few nights when prosecuted by the wife. Made me giggle that, oh if only... I have spent gazzillions of hours in Roos & Scrumbag over the last year or more.
Talking poppycock for as long as I remember...

well you got Scythe all riled up. he's hopping on a plane and heading my way with a big tub of whup as.s. thanks. i can't help it, but when ever i picture him, peter sellers comes to mind.

he wants this matter settled for once and for all -- as if it ever could be.

the more i get to know you cannon, the more i love you. please insert a couple of smileys in your posts from now on so we know how to read your dry english wit. we don't do subtext here in the states. i mean, you've seen our TV, yeah?

really, i think this is about resentment that you euro-guys (read: effete) aren't showing up in my TS gossip posts. all you gotta do is come into scrumbag in the evenings and i will shower you with my love. please don't take omission as a sign of disrespect. i just haven't had a chance to love you yet. and i'm so full of love. ask fishtank.
