^ Yeah, but the fun factor was the best bit. Your guns weren't too shabby either. My fire rate is not too good in Scrumbag, it's much better in Roos. The 1 or 2 points could have been down to that FB you didn't take. You ned to learn the FB disguise technique. I can't I just take em, much to the dismay of Mighty Mouse last night, hehe.

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
I didn't know there were techniques for fb's. I figured all the talk of fb dance was to explain away the negation of superior TT skills by the luck of the draw, but you take it to an art form.
I see that people I could routinely shoot out with my work computer have either gotten better connections, better computers, or just better. The 5 second space bar repetition does nothing for my self esteem. I think I am going to stay in the noob servers and be king of the minnows. Take bunch of pics and photoshop in the names and wallpaper it all over my room. I'm sure the missus would appreciate it.

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
When to pop that is the question. Peeps use the fire rate thing & some with a megga fire rate seem to just pop everyone round goal willy nilly. The beauty of my megga pants fire rate I have is that I can smoke everyone to within a bullet because I can see each one with a large gap between them. Use the lesser fire rate to your advantage MM. Although my perception of your fire last night was ouch, of course if twas TBM I would have taken ya
Bel is the extreme of me in terms of camping, he is the 1 second Spacebar man.
In terms of the FBs, if I get one I just run it straight in with TS, most do. My game is simple, so if I try the clever loiter & FB disguise my team usually end up cursing me (more than normal). In indy I may not take an FB depending on the game. The one we were in last night was just farsicle, so I just ran it in & wasn't bothered either way.

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
Cannon, the cream of the crop play scrumbag in the evening and late at night in the US. you need to recalibrate your expectations, cause you aint seen nothing yet..pop some no doze and get ready to rumble. you haven't been playing with the big boys...i walk on water, and there are at least 20 players better'n me who show up nightly. it's spooky.
you have no idea. do you ever get to play with Rx, Dj, Memphis, Get Some, Fishtank, Dash, Nuts, Woot, Jangles, Smacky, Rogue, Magenta, Tankerbell, Pacifico, Belikin, Napalm, Major Pain, Grrrreat, Chocoholic, Lone Wolf, George, T-34, Baba, Jay and Scythe ( i could go on...iBot comes to mind)
Try doing your thing when everyone of these guys is in the server. this is any given night at Scrumbag. when you can hang with these guys, you can talk some shite. until then, you are just the biggest kid in the romper room.
of course, i don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with His Eminence, BUT:I think this is why I have a different perception of top TS players. You lot list Bolo, say Stink aint bad, but I don't see this...

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
From your list I would say I have good experience of playing with the following on a regular basis:do you ever get to play with Rx, Dj, Memphis, Get Some, Fishtank, Dash, Nuts, Woot, Smacky, Rogue, Magenta, Tankerbell, Pacifico, Belikin? ( i could go on)
Memphis, GS, Dash, Woot, Smacky, Tank, Pac & Bel.
I can't run like any of them, I agree they are awsome at that. Indy against the likes of Mem & he scores.... Woot & Bel play more like me (or I play more like them to be correct). I have played with Bolo a few times & if I am honest he probably leeroyed too much to the detriment to his team each time, some superb individual moves, very memorable I agree, but in the whoile probably detrimental the over-all. I would love to play with you lot more often, it has taken ages for me to feel that I can mix it with ya. If only there was a league which accounted for time zones (I have expressed this a number of times in numerous threads). Use that brain & acivity levels of yours to some good & come up with something will you. Pleeeeeaaaaze.
I haven't seen you play enough to make a proper judgement on your skillz yet (although I already know you aren't koowul like Mem).

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
Cannon has played a few nights in Scrumbag, but the difference is simply location, hardware and experience.
Unfortunately even someone who has been playing the game for two or three years is still considered a "newer" player.
Memphis, Nuts, Jangles, Dash, Magenta, and DJ have been around for almost the entire time TT has been available. There are a few noted exceptions, but even these guys have been around for 3 years plus. Many of them putting in the time to elevate their games. Do you see a pattern here?
Yes, most of these players play the game A LOT. That's why their called regulars.
Do you remember the days when Fish was a newbie or Woot used the name "Red Seal?" That wasn't yesterday you know.
It simply comes down to a combination of things like how well you understand what can be done with the game, How long you've been playing the game, the connection and equipment you play on, and understanding the people you play with.

You smell that?
Do you smell that?
Napalm, son.
Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of Napalm in the morning!

@ Stink:
Most of who you mention are "connection players", meaning they are quite sucky without a fast connection. I bet Cannon, Myself and another euro could take any combination on a european server where we have got the gunzz. You as a West Coastie should know what a slower connection does, well and for us its not just land its also the atlantic.
I agree that there are very good people on your list, Get Some is in my eyes outstanding. But the likes of Fish & ROGUE will find it hard to play with a ping that rises above 100.
I have played with the following:
Rx: not lately, but a while back
Dj: was on a PSL team (SPARTA!) with him, but his lack of interest in the effin thing cost him a great deal of respect.
Memphis: quite often in roos or in Banlist
Fishtank: in the one PSL game I played this season
wOOt: quite often
Tankerbell: often lately
Pacifico: every now and then
Belikin: every now and then (often lately)
and I can tell you exactly how they all play, plus I can very well predict Get Some's gameplay because of all the 3v3 Challenge vids.
So? Shall I provide a server for a euros vs stink, (?) & (?) matchup? Or are you not willing to defend your statement that very much diminishes euro players to second /third grade noobies.

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
upstarts!!!
listen girls, i've been playing this game for 4.5 years (with time off for societal obligations here and there, but i've been clean lately) and many of those i listed have been around that long or longer.
caveat: connection cannot be underestimated. in my experience, those that Poo-Poo connection and Ping are always the ones who ping around 50. they have no credibility. they have no frame of reference. as a W coaster, especially as a NW w coaster, i am usually the crappiest pinger in the US servers...that being said i can impact a game as much as anyone else. i regularly give up 50 ping points to the next guy...
i like the smack talk from you guys! but the fact of the business is, you don't have the talent pool in Europe, (its a matter of numbers) and i don't think you two don't personally have the experience to hang with the nightly scrumbag crew. your reference is completely off yourselves. every night scrumbag is full of awesome players, and until you can consistently make your presence known among them, it's all just chatter. jay shows up occasionally and with his 150 ping, and makes an impact every time.
(IMPACT players are how i think of the best players...those who regularly impact a game, such as if they were replaced by another player their loss would be felt...i never created a "Top Ten" list. in my opinion, it's currently just Dj in my Top Whatever list; and then the rest of us impact players. Rx gets elevated above us slightly because of his uncanny ability to score against all odds).
i can tell by your descriptions that your experiences w/these guys i listed is very limited. again, show up and play when the server is FULL of these guys before you prattle on about your skill. don't tell me how you once bested a server full of bots and one of these guys...that don't mean squat.
if you poo poo Rx, Dj, Fish, and God Forbid!!!: BOLO! then you don't know what's up. you should know that one experience w/ a player doesn't tell you squat. hang out for a couple of evenings and you will find your place on the pecking order. judging someone's skill by performance in indy is way off base. once in a while indy stars show up in TS and bumbles into trees, rocks, and fall off cliffs cause its a completely different animal. that said, a solid TS player has no problem holding her own in indy.
unfortunately, in the end discussions like this really are academic because connection issues for folks in the hinterlands render the whole thing moot. i wish someone could come up with a way to equalize everything...like an automatic handicap for the low pingers, etc. another cool idea would be a revolving server that jumps from host to host around the civilized world. then you euros could occasionally reap the benefit of a 30 ping evening against top talent and serve up some vengence.
but seriously, given that most of the current players and all of the old timers are US players, and you don't get to mix it up with em enough...your frames of reference are skewed.
Scythe: i don't diminish your skills, i'm just saying talking smack without yourself standing up to the current Standard of play is just rhetoric. the current standard is Scrumbag. c'mon in, its a blast.
an interesting idea scythe, would be for W Coasters like myself, Rx and Magenta to take on three of your guys...in a server where our pings are equal. possibly roos. i ping around 150 there...you aint gonna like how rx, magenta and i roll. it is a thing most unholy.

Re: Nightly Scrumbag Discussion
You know Stink, I do realize the difference between Indy and Team Scrum. I have been here since June '04 so however you may not have noticed I too have built up experience. Maybe you are right and my sight on the pecking order, as you say it, is wrong because I miss out these games. But clearly I have played against (almost) all on your list and they are all very good in one or another thing.
I agree on Jay, he has a great impact on the game, I was thinking of him as a third for this. Lets move this discussion to a different thread in the Leagues (not the Challenge 2008) and get it going.
Im actually just looking for an "adrenaline game", so if slandering your gods does it then its worth it.
Oh just one thing, don't give me the "lag..." bomb.
