How do i launch a decotive server how ever you spell it because i bought the game from shock wave i dont get one bit how to launch a decotive server so you have to tell me step y step and make it easy for me to understand lol thanks

I guess you want to dress up a server? decotive? or do you mean dedicated? If so the answer you seek is in the modding section. Look for the modding resource.

i found it but i dint understand and it says you can get batch files what ever they are in brave tree/think tanks/devotive if you dont have these shockcuts so i downlaoded demo from brave tree but they not even there.

Tutorial On How To Start A Dedicated Server On Windows If You Own The Shockwave Thinktanks

Follow This Step By Step going slow, and DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING, or else it might not work

I am NOT responsible for anything that happens to your game! This is not Very Risky and shouldnt hurt your game, but i am still not responsible if your game fails to load after you do this!

If you want to host a dedicated server and you own the shockwave copy of Thinktanks here is what you do.

Go to your thinktanks directory, should be in C:program files/shockwave/thinktanks (if you didnt change the install path). You know you at the thinktanks directory if you see a game and a common folder.

Once you are there here is what you are going to want to do.

1. Create a new folder in your thinktanks directory called "dedicated" without the quotes.

2. After you have done that, double click on the new dedicated folder that you made.

3. Open up a text editor, notepad will work, and type in the following

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission game/data/missions/TT1_1.mis -game B 

But before we go to far, lets decode what i said just now

DO NOT USE THIS EXAMPLE!! IT WILL NOT WORK

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission 

Dont change this line, or it will not work, best just not to even think about touching it

You can change the text between the 's to one of the following

green: which loops all the missions that have a tt1 before them, in other words, all the lush maps. (if you havent edited the mission file names)

Example:
tt1_1.mis
tt1_2.mis

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission BLUE -game TS

Blue: Loops all the missions that have tt2 before them, in other words, all the spooky maps (if you havent edited the mission file names)

Example:
tt2_1.mis
tt2_2.mis

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission RED -game TS

Red: Loops all the missions that have tt3 before them, in other words, all the Frantic maps (if you havent edited the mission file names

Example:

you can change the text between the 's to any mission that you may have in your missions folder

Example

or

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission game/data/missions/xmas.mis -game B 

Now for the game type,

See the text between the 's that reads -game B

You can replace the B with one of the following:

TS for Team Scrum
TB for Team Battlemode
S for Scrum
B for Battlemode

So in that notepad that you had open, put in one of the following or put in your own prefs

ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission game/data/missions/TT1_1.mis -game TS

And that will be a dedicated server that is hosting tt1_1.mis with the game type of TS

One More Example

Code: Select all

cd .. 
ThinkTanks -dedicated -mission RED -game TB 

This would be a dedicated server that is hosting all the frantic maps, if you didnt edit the mission file names, as Team Battlemode.

Copy and paste one of the setups that i have given you, or copy and paste and then edit it, so the server has the prefs that you want and save it as

Dedicated server.bat

You NEED the .bat at the end or it will now work!

Then place or save that file in the dedicated folder that you made in your thinktanks directory. Double click on the file that you put in there, and then your server will work!
