Witness and behold the arrow-bounce pad mid-air interception that is possible on this week's map!! Dash and I discovered this in tonight's PSL practice server.

Mid-air interception! (Quicktime, 45 MB. 36 seconds)

This movie is actually more significant in many ways. It is the first time I have been able to actually capture video directly to the hard drive at 30 fps and a resolution of 1024 x 760 (I should have used a slightly bigger size because parts of the screen got cut off, but no biggie next time). I captured these clips while playing LIVE and playing TT and hosting and playing iTunes (as you no doubt can hear, lol). This is basically the first TT video in HD of live action!! Woohoo!! Also, there is no digital to analog to digital conversion, so there is very little loss in quality. there is no way I could have done this on my last machine. But now with my new MacPro (2 x 3 GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon processors, and 8 GB RAM) it looks like there is enough horsepower to capture directly! This could be HUGE for the PSL finals video! OMG!!

I think because this video is not compressed at all, it can't be streamed. In other words you have to download the whole thing before you can watch it. I will explore that later.

Yes I had such a mid air "pass" with Chocoholic last night on the map "gamma".
Felt like a high wire act at Cirque du Soleil or Barnum & Bailey.
Quite unintentional - but we both launched on arrows going opposite directions. he had the flag and we passed each other mid air and the flag passed to me. No major collision either, just brushed by close enough to transfer.
We could probably never recreate that if we wanted to.
Unless we knew we'd be on HD....
