redraft is a bad idea...but a team could be formed from reserve pool and compensation players from teams with 7.

i agree 7 is too many for one team. we played a season with 7 teams of 6 players and it was wildy fun. all it means is a bye week for each team. there is still time to form a 7th team. please discuss.

Not a bad idea. Only concern I have is that people, for whatever reason, always drop. I would hate to leave a team short-handed.

yes people drop...but we still can maintain 7 teams with 6 players on each team and a couple in the reserve pool. for a 4 on 4 league we should be able to sustain this. my motivation is being inclusive. we can make this work.

If the reserves are still in, and captains have not discovered (m)any deadbeats i say go for the extra team.
Unless that is too much of a burden for the commish and his schedule making elves.

Hate to keep bringing up the calendar but won't a seventh team push us right into heart of the holidays?

Keep in mind that Halloween is on Wednesday this year and those of us with kids, and Get Some, will be a bit busy that night.

I'm all for a seventh team, but practically speaking, we really need to consider how many games there will be during the season.

If we must play each team twice I fear this will run all the way to the second week of January. I remember that we had a very difficult time fielding teams during the holiday season in the past. I know that I'm definitely out Halloween night, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's weeks.

Anyone else foreseeing the same situation?

good point rogue. you know me, i just wanna all hold hands and sing kumbaya even if everything around me is burning down.

so, i looked at the calendar. even as it stands with us starting next week with a 12 week season and a 2 week postseason, week 6 falls on halloween (which will be tough to pull off a match i think) week 9 falls on the eve of thanksgiving (again could be tough to pull off) and week 12, assuming we played both games on halloween and the eve of thanksgiving, would fall on dec 12. that means the final match would be Dec 26th. if we push back 1 week to compensate for Thanksgiving we are playing the finals on Jan 2, another near holiday date.

now we could schedule those holiday weeks on an earlier night or we could just skip those weeks and deal with playing into Jan. or we could test everyone's dedication and geekiness and play the schedule straight on through irregardless of holidays...and i know already that will get me in trouble with the lady.

i for one would favor having off weeks and stretching into january. that would allow for a seventh team as that only adds 2 weeks to the schedule and would put us at the end of january for a final match. but i will go with the rest of what the captains and Rx feels is best.

@dash & BC: I think we will have to officially bag the teamskins idea. Unfortunately one file is missing from the zip file that -z- left us. Others who have the same zip file also found that teamtanks.cs is missing. I am sure this can be solved by one of our brilliant scripters, but for this season I don't think we have time to get it going.

I am not too worried about running into the holidays. Worst case scenario is that we skip a week. If people want a 7th team, I am OK with that. The thing about the reserve pool is that not all of those folks envision themselves as being fully committed to playing. I am not sure if it would work just to say all people in the pool are on a 7th team. I think Ge0rge got his computer fixed, though. And a good point: I don't know how you boot one person off your team if you don't want 7. Most likely it makes sense to stay as it is. At this stage things will only change based on a vote by the captains.
