We should start spreading TT around again, so that BT can use the "Fans actually market the game" (ex: Youtube Videos) and get a TT2 faster ;)
For example, trying to digg it or use other services alike... Even tough the last digg failed!!!
So, anyone wanna start posting stuff on forums or even trying to digg/delicious (sp?) or something :P?

Beware updates, upgrades, TT2!
In my experience with gaming, a community does not necessarily migrate with a new version of a favorite game!
I can think of Warcraft 1-2-3, Myth 1-2, etc. Whenever they came with new versions, old people left, new people came.
Thus as much as I'd love to see a TT2, we cannot be sure that
1- we'll like it (re. game physics, playability, etc.)
2- it will be as fun as TTv1
3- Everyone will migrate to TT2
What if the game physics aren't as good as TT2? The tanks are clumsy? The weapons too powerful? The maps suck?
Anyway... Just to say TT2 potentially is another radically different version of a good classic game. 'New' does not mean 'better'!

^ heh is this nice post for me? Good use of emoticons! lol
btw I did not mean my post to be the first on page 2.
It's just that everyone here think that TT2 will necessarily better than TT1. I just say: not so sure!
To expand on TT1 is the good direction IMO.
Also, if you were talking to me in regard to deleting one of your post: I never deleted anyone's post on PTT2. So far what I did is I just edited one of Trees' post. And then it cured him. Sort of.

Wise advice, Hugo
Once again, the glorious Hugobaaarainz shows his wisdom.
Beware new versions. One of the great things about TT is that is can be run across platforms, has moderately low system requirements, and is able to be run by almost any computer that has been built in the last 5 years or so.
I'm worried about a TT2. Suppose a new version requires a much more modern system. All the tankers that have 3-5 yr old computers would be left out in the cold.
Suppose it included new features that sound good, but actually ruin the playability? I think an auto-aim system would do that. Changes in the physics would really effect the game, too. Ever tried one of those servers with super high speed? Fun for a change of pace, but not a great game.
What we have in TT is a great game. I've never played a computer game this long before, and I see few that would hold my attention so well. I have to agree with Hugo. Expand and upgrade TT, but don't make radical changes that would fragment this community into TTers and TT2ers.
Be careful what you ask for, as it may come true...
(and why flame Hugo for posting an opinion?)
Here's an idea for promoting TT. Would GG be willing to give licenses out to places like Boys and Girl's clubs, afterschool programs, and such? Some kids would be exposed to the game, and a good percentage would be interested in buying it... Maybe they could partner with some organizations like that. I know when I let kids play TT in school, (rare occasion like a class party) they really like it.
