For those who may remember my older son (and KJ's older brother) Dar who started playing TT when he was like 10 years old and was one of the stronger scrummers in his day....
I just dropped him off at college!
He's going to a college in Greensboro, North Carolina ( yes a long ways from home).
Notable is that he will be on the baseball team ( its a Division 1 school in the MEAC) and even got a bit of financial aid from the baseball team.
The baseball stadium they practice and play at is an ancient place, that truthfully is pretty run down ( though the field itself is maintained pretty well).
The history of the stadium is pretty cool though - It was used by The New York Yankees until like 2005 for their farm clubs.
Babe Ruth used to play there, way back when as well as more recent Yankee notables such as Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter to name a few.
Kinda cool to play in a place with such history.

Cool stuff, Baba!
Congrats to Dar, and I hope he adapts to the humidity in NC!
Must be good to see all those years of baseball paid off this way, too.

That's very cool. Let me know if he needs a care package. He's about 1 hour or so away. Go Heels. Go A&T. Go Dar!

Dar started his first game last week.
A "gutty" performance, but came away with a win and only let in 1 run over 6 innings against a strong D-1 opponent.

He started yesterday against the North Carolina State University in Raleigh, the wolf pack are currently ranked 6 nationally.
That game was televised on ESPN3 - kinda cool watching my son play on espn after getting off the night shift at work.
He went the first 3 innings, let in two runs , left with a 4-2 lead. The wheels came off a few innings later when NC State put 10 across in one inning.
