My idea is simply this... I just think one of the front rotators needs to be simply:
"Can't find any game servers? Click here" Should be white with red letters. Very attention grabbing. It should lead to the detailed screen shots and information about making the in game changes.
A mass email to the database is a good idea once the dust settles on what we will have and end up with. Read this for up to date information.

I believe the master server is done with (I hope I am wrong here). It is my understanding that CB has been having some very good conversations with GG about getting the stuff we need to implement the master server correctly and in a fast manner. (minus the refresh bug we experience), even though they don't own that information anymore.
All said, until we can get a good experience back with the server list (without multiple refreshes needed to show the servers), and get the GG stuff pointed to Phobiks fantastic server list/servers, it will continue to erode player interest and involvement - players just don't fully know whats going on.
We must double our efforts (thanks to all who have been working so much on this) and make this a win for the community. I know it will be if we stay on this and get things resolved.
DAZZLE'S UPGRADE PACK
If you haven't already done so, upgrade your game by downloading Dazzle's all-in-one upgrade pack. It comes with everything you need for today's servers. Does your blue bar freeze when joining servers? Do you lag in games? Do you get an annoying siren in Phobik's Servers? This is what you need. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

Hiya Baba...yes, thanks, I concur, all good.
Hiya Sups...yes, thanks, I concur, all good and made placeholder for article for yousallses editing pleasure
(I'm uber swamped today...)
link to new article place holder
...and here in Joomla we have many editors,
if you don't like the box you're typing in
go to your user details and pick out/try out
another editor until you find one that fits your
needs.
(must be logged in for link to work)
Once in an editor please always look for editing
icon that looks like "/>" or "<>" or the like to
switch between the visual style editor
to the code behind it
(so your not pasting in BAD code)
Please do this so we don't have to hire
a janitor ;P
The JCE editor is robust and is visual editor
which I believe has a tool specific for importing
copy/paste out of msWord/doc style stuff.
So, make sure you poke around and check out
what all the icons in these editors will do for you.
Tip: before starting an article that has images
inside of the text pages, be sure to have all
your images ready to drop in, say from your
desktop....
with JCE editor:
click the image insert icon then click upload icon on the next popup

My attempts to upload zip files of skins have been unsuccessful. Says "although you attempted to upload, no file was received".

Babs is so right here.
This thing is going to die QUICKLY!!
I myself am having a hard time inserting Phobik's code into my TT folder.
I am a Vista user and for some reason can't get it done.
Just think of the hundreds of others having the same problem.
It will end up being about 15 of you left playing one another and that will grow old...

@KKB
Did you throw out the prefs.cs.dso after you edited the prefs.cs?
If you don't, the game won't compile a new prefs.cs.dso, and you'll be stuck with the old settings until you toss the old prefs.cs.dso
If you go to the thread on Phobik's server, you may get more help/info. I'm guessing you hit the "compatibility files" button to get to the prefs.cs

Re: Ya'Think?
Doc,
IMHO we need to get away from having people modify the program files directory directly. For those of us who have been in the game for a long time this is a simple thing to do but it is challenging for newbies/less computer geeky members to do.
Creating an .exe program to install off of the mods etc is simple and easy to do with some of the free software out there. I'm know it can be done for linux and mac platforms as well.
One of the major reasons why this game never got very big is because of the lack of a easy mod support. It took me 6 months of playing the game to finally figure out how to get all of the mod's/scripts/skins installed.
This can also be done to copy a new pref.cs file and delete the prefs.cs.dso file as well. Just having to click a few install buttons instead of modifying the script directly is a lot less intimidating for some reason for most people.
I've got a link under my CASA DE LAG predownload with some example .exe files.

Re: Ya'Think?
^Sounds good "V", do you have time to hash a final .exe out and test it?
(funny, I was imagining an online solution...but of course a .bat or .exe makes much more sense!)

Re: Ya'Think?
Doc,
Need some testers for this file.
http://the.v.tt.home.comcast.net/~the.v ... Update.exe
Simple little program it basically does these steps.
Copies two folders to the /game/clients folder
Backup & pttmstr
pttmstr folder contains the updated prefs.cs
Then runs prefsld.bat file that
Deletes prefs.cs.dso
Moves original prefs.cs to backup folder
copies updated prefs.cs to client folder.
I also ran an updated windows self installing all data folder update.
http://the.v.tt.home.comcast.net/~the.v ... nstall.exe
This one is 397MB almost 100MB larger than the first one I did.
This is such a nice little bit of freeware...
