What? The employment picture is better now than it was when he took office? (.2% gain in the last month...)

We'll have to take a look at the numbers in January, after the holiday workers are no longer there.
Economy is great..everyone I know is busy..and 30,000 more troops are going to afghanistan.. Now remind me exactly what some of his campaign promises were?

Prevent financial meltdown. Stop torture. Remove troops from Iraq. Return focus to Afghanistan. Improve standing in the world. Reform healthcare. Improve energy policy.dad wrote:Now remind me exactly what some of his campaign promises were?
Should I go on? Or can we save time here and just have you guys admit that you're so set in your dogma and prejudice that you'll always find a reason to hate him?

Re: Our president, not many threads about him.
OK, so your saying that he has done those things?
Stopped a financial meltdown? All that has happened he just transferred a ton of wealth from the lower and middle classes to the elite. All those bad bonds, loans, mortgages have to paid buy our taxes. We still have 17% unemployment after those bailouts. Plus if the economy is doing so great why are we hearing about a second stimulus and fed funds rate still at zero. Unemployment and most economic indicators are lagging. If they believed we were recovering you can bet they would raise rates for fear of inflation. Plus, why are they holding our dollar down.
Stopped torture? He signed a bill, does that actually stop it? How many people from the Bush/Cheney era are being held accountable. Have they really stopped torture in Guantanamo?
Remove people from Iraq and return focus to Afghanistan. Still looks to be a work in progress there. Why are we in Afghanistan?
Improve standing in the world. He has done that on a social level but has killed us on a financial level.
Reform Health care. I thought that if something were to be reformed it should be better. So far what I see is not better but just a transfer of wealth and power. Will more people be covered, yes, but at what cost? Why in the heck do we not get rid of all the laws stating that health insurers have to meet specific state requirements. Open it up and treat it like car insurance. Which of course won't happen because then the insurers would have to be competitive and lower rates so that would mean less money/power to "donate". I had a lot of hope that some real change would be made here.
Improve energy policy. Would like to see more here but so far like what I see.
One area that I hope he continues to travel down is the transparency issue. So far I think it has been rather lacking, maybe I was expecting more. Our Government has decided to place us in debt in the trillions. Should we not know were it was spent. For the next few years (plus our kids) we have to pay for this, some way some how. These are dollars that should be going to our savings accounts.

Nobody talking about the Obama and GOP meeting?
Yah know, the one in which GOP members considered it a "mistake" to allow reporters to be present? No admittance that you've been sucked in by GOP rhetoric?
No revelations, such as "So this is the real reason why he can't get anything done? The Left is self-destructive and the Right is batshit crazy."
Still think he needs a speech writer after completely embarrassing the GOP members present at the Q&A by stating facts and using commonsense?
Bah, you won't change. You'd rather listen to some tripe about how Obama is out to destroy America.

He's apparently having issues with his own party as well. Rubber stamp for 12 months and still can't get anything accomplished. Seems to be "political" rhetoric since the Dems and Republicans are indentical cousins.
I heard current debt is equivalent to $45,000 per person in the US...way to go.
