Welcome to the game BlazerYo!
Well, not much else to say, LGM, Cloud, and Jerry pretty much covered it all. You can check out "armies" (clans of players) here, and if you're looking for one, you can also check here (just note that not all armies are listen there at the moment, so look around, too).
TMG Leader, Triv, and Myself run the OhioPyle TS server, which contains some great Team Scrum maps, but be sure to get Dazzles' pack first.
Look forward to seeing you in game.

Hello, and welcome. Always nice to have another GUI artist since we only have a few. As for GUI, you can make or edit the GUI pictures, if you scripted GUI, this is not possible due to the lack of source scripts we were given unlike MarbleBlastGold which included almost all the source files.
I think other people have covered what goes on with this game. Just a little reminder, when playing online, you have to go easy on the language since we have many young players buying this game. I know 3 other people have said this, but just to make sure, get the Dazzle Upgrade Pack, otherwise you're going to have to wait a while for the downloads on modded servers.
Have fun and I hope to see you in game

Re: Hey I'm new
Hey I just installed the Dazzle upgrade!!
EDIT: Argh, the dazzle upgrade broke my game, I see TT doesn't produce console.log files, that sucks. I'm guessing there's a problem with something in the new main.cs, as the game does not start at all now. Does anybody know of this or can someone help me with this please?
It's kinda important as It's preventing me playing lol
I also have one question; How do you play the new custom maps in Solo mode?
Or do you have to play online to access them?

Re: Hey I'm new
Hmmm, are you on a mac/pc? You could just reinstall the game, and try again. Make sure you delete the entire TT folder though. I think all you have to do is move a few packed folders from dazzle's download into your TT folder. When I make a mistake like that, and I cant figure out, I just reinstall the game. It's a pretty quick fix.

Re: Hey I'm new
There has been over 4500 downloads of this pack so there are no problems, the pack is virus checked and works 100%. The problem is with you and how you installed the files.BlazerYo wrote: EDIT: Argh, the dazzle upgrade broke my game, I see TT doesn't produce console.log files, that sucks. Here is the checklist:
1) make sure you download the pack for your platform PC/Mac
2) extract the compressed file, DO NOT INSTALL FROM A COMPRESSED FORMAT, this is very important.
3) READ THE INSTALLATION GUIDE
Click here for the Windows installation and read me guide
Click here for the Mac installation and read me guide
4) follow the simple step by step instructions within the guide. you only have to do 3 things 1- install the new main.cs / 2 - install the data folder / 3 - install the client folder (if you are on windows vista or 7 there is an extra step here all explained in the user guide)
5) play the game
You cannot really play modded maps in solo mode, this is especially true when additional code is used to run the mod like in CTF, KOTH, KeepAway etc. When it comes to TT maps you need to understand that each map has 2 files a mission file (mis) and terrain file (.ter) - the terrain file is the actual ground which you drive on and the mission file contains information on static object placement, spawn points, sky file data, visible distance etc etc - a TT server cannot run a map without both of these files, but a player can play the mod by having only the terrain file. Some modders do not release their mission files, some do. You can run your own server using modded maps but only if you have both the .mis and .ter. In solo mode you do not have the option to select a map to play as it uses the stock maps as default.
A normal mod (for scrum or battlemode) is made using TGE and ModWiz, TGE is used to create the terrain, set the sky, fog height/colour, visible distances and place static objects and ModWiz is used to place datablocks like arrows, ammo gates, power ups and spawn points ( although it can also be used for static objects, sky, fog etc as well - I just prefer TGE for this purpose). In more complicated mods the mission file is used to place additional code for things such as teleporters, basic functions, additional datablocks, tank speed settings, weapon settings etc. Then for new gametype mods the mission file is used to add additional code for the mod but also to execute the main gametype code contained in a separate .cs file.
So unless you possess both the .mis and .ter (and in some cases the gametype script) you will not be able to run these mods on your server, and you will definitely not be able to play them in solo mode. Inside my upgrade pack in the missions folder (game/data/missions) you will find a number of missions files that you can use. To learn how to set up a dedicated server see the threads in the modding forums.
I hope that helps you, and welcome to TT

GUIDE HOW TO ADD A MAP TO 'CREATE GAME' MAP LIST
1. Move first all the files to their correct places as instructed on the packet (whatever maps you have downloaded).
2. Rename your chosen mission file to TT1_5 (OR TT2_5 OR TT3_5) [TTx_y , x = 1=lush, 2=spooky, 3=frantic , y = 5th map]
2. (b) If it doesn't accept that. Then you increase the last number and name it TT1_6 (you can keep increasing it to the tens eg TT1_34)
3. If in your missions folder all files has .mis or .ter ending showing up. Make sure that in the end of your file reads .mis
If .mis and .ter endings aren't showing. Just ignore this as they are automatically placed.
4. Go create a game from the Create menu and browse the maps. Now there should be available a new map to play on. Enjoy!
Some maps will crash if there is a problem with them. Nearly always in this case the map is using some new objects which you don't have on your folders... and thus can't play on it without manually editing the .mis file.
If you're having problems with dazzle pack try using your original main.cs file or just grap only the art files (everything inside data folder) those are the things you need to have to get in some maps. client and server folders have scripts files which are run from main.cs

Re: Hey I'm new
Hey thanks for the explanation guys, I'm a TGE expert so I know pretty much all the stuff you guys just said haha
I was hoping to fix the game based on code editing, but it seems that wont happen, so I'll just reinstall
I have the TGE so I know all the basics (Terrain editing, mission editing etc) and I know a little more of the advanced stuff, basic scripting, 3D DTS mapping and DIF creating. I believe TTs can support Interior instances (DIF objects) in the right format (I'll have to find out the TGE version TTs runs on!).
Thanks for the help guys
