And around and around and around she goes.......

Hey, why go to perez hilton when you've got this? Funny how with the lack of updates - er, no updates - to TT, everything just becomes so cyclical. Anyone remember my attack on Slug and Lone for being bad admins last year? Totally ridiculous behaviour on their part. Or my complaint 2 or 3 years ago about rinky dink maps with arrows straight to the goals that RX and Tally loved so much and knew inside out and insisted were part of the 3 on 3 challenges? Like Smacky said, why learn how to run when you can fly. Hey, why learn how to shoot when you'll just respawn again in the goal. Christ, I spend half the late night scrum games basically missing and wounding the other guy, just so that I'll spawn again - granted reaching for your drink can improve this outcome a lot quicker. I have no idea what map I'm on nor where the arrows are and I don't care because these matches are just entertainment for my oh so "tired" eyes. On the other hand, once Bolo returns and we take over the vacated 3 on 3 crown, you can bet your a.ss that map will be medium-large and we all know it very well - none of this "you have to know when to die" crap or "you should study the map better" garbage.

For me the biggest change in TT came when they changed the arc of fire - this is before pretty much anybody on this board was around. Scrum used to have a lot of passing and tricks because there was a huge learning curve to shooting. It took me a good three months of constant playing to get the angles even remotely right and to possibly challenge someone like Tanky. And then, peeps started complaining that it was too difficult to get a kill and BraveTree made the arc straight to entice new players and make it more Battle Modish with more kills. Scrum was just an after thought to them. One thing lead to another and those scrummers who could never adjust and/or get the shooting right often dictated the style of play by putting up modded small maps with lots of trick goals that catered to their style of game. For me, my biggest gripe has always been that if I kill you because I'm a better shooter than you, you shouldn't be rewarded with a trip to the goal. And, I've never particularly enjoyed seeing a tank simply fly over my head and score without even one obstacle in its way. But, I DO LOVE FREEBIES!!

I disagree with Smacky. Phiz's real name is still the coolest.

Supra!!!
wazzup!

I do agree with some of Jangies points.
I have not played on the newer mods enough to make a fully informed opinion about them, however I do see a creeping theme of arrows galore, and arrow goals galore. Which if you play the maps enough to have them all memorized is a big advantage, however if you are a more occasional visitor it does put one at a disadvantage. Tough to defend what flies over your head. That said I always applaud people to put energy into the game (at least positive energy) even if I may not be the most fond of all of it.
Indeed I do remember the arc of fire changes early in TT 's evolution. I mourn its change because at least then I had reason to be a mediocre shot.

I was trying to encapsulate the discussion (not the peeing contest) here about changes to TS, the incoming of the BMers into PSL etc, to Dar and KJ while driving them across town yesterday.
They are quick to take credit for much of that change (kids do like to magnify their importance, but...) as when they were CereBros Locos co-captains they drafted a BM worthy team. By drafting dash, leopard, Rogue along with KJ (till then primarily a bmer) along with memphis, LilAlienD, Dar and Tank Dork(who never showed for a game) they did blend a potent brew of BMers and scrummer and the result showed with subsequent PSL titles.
For an 8 and a 10 year old they did pretty good.

In the midst of this crap it would have been nice if one person had posted something as simple as - "Sluggy has never boasted of being a strong player" or "It's not true that Sluggy assigns himself to a the stronger team" or any of a number simple statements against some of the clearly untrue things that were posted here. Instead I get Oxtox bopping into a server to call me a fake.

It doesn't matter how you feel about someone. If you condone even trivial lies to be spread about a person you reveal about yourself a tragic moral weakness. I doubt I could have sat by and allowed this to happen to someone else no matter what my feelings about them.

I really do like playing this game but I have come to realize that I have a severe shortage of people here I can trust. I am left terribly saddened. I have lost something important to me, feelings of warmth I held towards many of you. You are not my friends. I was mistaken. I have been such a fool.

Sluggy, sluggy. Don't take this so hard. You are a good man. I have met you and I know you are a good guy. You have been a stand up guy for a long time. OK, so you are not a great admin, and your sense of what is going on is "unique". But you have overall been a positive member of the community. My suggestion: ease up on thinking you are the only one who understands all the tactics and rules of the road.

And my suggestion to Stink: no need to keep digging into a sore spot. Let it go.

I have spent a lot of time with both of you guys and you both have a lot to offer. I'll tell you one thing I have learned from this game. It is so much fun to play, no doubt. However, the minute I started Skyping with people, I realized how easy it is to start dumping on other players. And immediately, the fun of the game began to melt away. Complaining builds on itself. Also another thing I have learned from this game. Thinking you are right is small minded. Not even questioning that you could be wrong will lead you astray and hit you like a Mack truck one day. Humility and a respect for learning from others is the key to being prosperous.

Not a bad lesson for $20.

who would want to jump in the pile of manure that was being constructed.
Most said, "enough", "stop it, or take it elsewhere".
Why should we dignify that whole exchange with applauding well aimed spears aimed at our friends and defending characters that where never in doubt at least in my eyes.
Its really time to move on.
Enough!!

RX good points btw.

It is difficult to not take it hard, Rx.

It was not my ideas that were attacked. My ideas, no matter how divergent from the common, stand or fall on their own. I am not hurt when my ideas are attacked. This was not a criticism of my skills as a player or as an Admin. I have no illusions about my abilities in either realm. This was a direct assault on me as a person and "rubbing dirt on it" will not make it go away. I was repeatedly called a liar, a fake and a fraud. I, the person, was attacked.

People I have known for years sat by and let someone repeatedly attack me in the most base fashion and not one stepped forward to call a halt to the onslaught. To call the other to task. To tell him that he had ventured beyond decency. Do you believe I would have sat and allowed such abuse of anyone else? No matter at whom it was directed? Friend or foe? But many of you did. It was betrayal and it was shameful. And I feel a complete fool for having ever thought better of you.

You are more strangers to me now than you were when I first met you.

For me this won't go away. I have lost something that mattered to me. Perhaps I was naive. Perhaps I lost only the illusion of trust.

Likely, few will bother to read this. Likely the thread will die and be replaced by another.
