PsychoScrum League Season 16: Season Mode

Quite the pickle here. Bolonius could only field 2 tanks, so it was decided that we would try and reschedule. This creates the possibility of several situations-

-we successfully reschedule and play 4 on 4, if sparklemotion sweeps, we're in playoffs.
-we play 3 on 3, sparkle sweeps, do we get bonus point for playing with short teams?
-we can't successfully reschedule, does Funk forfeit? If we forfeit, we get 4 points, tying trout.

What decides tie? Points scored, or head to head vs Trout? Season might drag if we try to schedule another match...

Just checked - 3v3 is eligible for bonus point. As this game decides the playoff matchups, I think it needs to be played.

The real question - what if no game is played? Only 4 pts? Let me consult the hallowed rule book and employ my tax logic...

Maybe head to head, winner take all? That seems to be the most fair, barring the game actually being played.

It looks like Trout has Sparkle on points (heads up). Trout also has a smaller net deficit (beore this week was played)...

However, for better or worse, Funk has been the "whipping boy" of the league, and Sparkle is being "penalized "for playing them late in the schedule. One could chalk this up to fate, and say TS (not team scrum)...I think this needs to be discussed, so no one feels cheated at the end.

Or just play the game...

if Funk isn't willing to play it (boo!) i think the most fair scenario is to settle it on the field w/Trout.

The game needs to be played imo.

If there is a tie then we would look to the 2 games when the teams previously met. Add up the total points scored for both matches and see who comes out ahead. In this case 31-26 ==> Trout.

If Funk forfeits, then Sparkle would get 4 points by rule.

^ If this is indeed what happens, I think those Funkers who failed do show get a "poo mark" by their name, unless they make the case for not attending. "I didn't want to play" is not a valid excuse, and lack of attendance by those who failed to show should be noted for the next PSL.

because if we swept them, we're in the play offs. by not showing, they have denied us an opportunity to decide this on the field.

Easy guys. No harm done - let's see if the relevant parties can post and set a make-up date.

remember that the funk had a low attendance showing against the trout earlier and we decided to take the "high road" and reschedule, rather than take 4 points the easy way (which would have made all this babbling inconsequential).
It took some work but we did reschedule and trout showed true dignity and class in allowing them to sweep us and get 5 points.
So do the hard work and reschedule this beast.

LW is MIA, Gen Vig has year end school, Delta has physical injuries, and Supra didn't show. I think we're herding cats.

Just skip Funk v Sparkle and do a sudden death match up between Sparkle and Trout.
