3-4 GB is how small you can get the install by doing a minimal from Apple's installer. I'm sure you could get it much smaller by doing a custom install or deleting things afterwards. The size of Mac OS is related to all the stuff that makes it easy to use.
Don't get me wrong DJ and Player, I think Linux is great once you get it to do what you want it to.

Now, listen up, I have a question for Mac and PC users: Every time someone posts a thread about support for a PC or Mac, they only get helpful responses from people who know what they're doing. Every time someone posts a *Linux* support thread, the PC/Mac fan-trolls jump in and start a flame war. Why?
