well I think the ideal is an "even game" - hard to reach of course.
I always look long and hard at the players in game before I enter to try to put myself on the weaker team (presumptuous in that it presumes I bring something to that team I know) That is harder to read if there are aliases clouding (hehe) the picture.
So yes MM, just as you try to help a noob team overcome a stronger team, one does that to try to make it more even, more competitive.
While I generally disdain the use of aliases - there are times I use them, rare moments I should add.
Currently I use one when I am trying out a heavy tank - something I have never practiced , and am especially feeble at.
As a "vet" I tend to be a target to those who feel killing an old sheep gives them some special manna.
As a noob heavy tank I dont need to attract any additional attention than that is usually directed to them.

going in on the weaker side with a buncha noobs vs a solid group of vets can be fun and challenging but do you know how dreadfully boring it is being on the side of vets and watching 3 noobs enter on the other side making it a 7 on 4? easily wasting know nothing noobs kills the fun so freakin fast its not even funny.
