I saw your server up, and thought "Now there's a good idea.."
I also think we need to keep a server or two up that demos can get in. I had lots of traffic in my server when Snow's was down, but none after it came back. It seems to be down again, but I get comments about how the new versions of the lush maps are so much better.
Can anyone send me the remixed maps? I'd appreciate it. I'll run my server as an indy scrum with them.
But now, Snow's is up, so what do you guys want for a server? TS? Indy scrum? Not sure what is needed. I've got TS up now, and if you want my admin pass for it, let me know. (Vets only, please...)
@ Daz- I sent you what I was working on... check your e-mail

I've noticed a critical mass effect in joining. I've taken to joining empty servers and then surfing the internet with TT in the background. People seem to start showing up more quickly than if I just check the server periodically without joining.

Re: Is TT as we knew it,DEAD?
I have played several TBM games, but I find it hard to find a good scrum game lately. I havent played a good TS game in a few weeks. (mostly because I cant be on when everybody else is on) I see people are still on, so the time when we have to start to plan games and set times of when people will be on is hopefully far off.
But if worse comes to worse, WE as a COMMUNITY can begin to check up on the hour and join a server. If everybody who wants to join a game does the 'On the hour' check in, then a good game could get started. I know many people check, but dont actually join servers...
So just currious, when is the last time a good TS game got going? I have no idea...

Don't forget the other half of TT. Scrum maybe going through a slow time. But, you can't forget about TBM. Which to me seems to be thriving right now. Servers are most always full. And you can most always find a good pick up game. Don't get me wrong, Scrum is a great game and a lot of fun to play. But, I don't think TT is dying as a whole. Well, just my 2 cents.

We had a few really good games a couple of days ago when I was running TS...
And had some nice battles in indy last night. If we had another demo-open indy server, I'd run TS.
Fun stuff.

Re: Is TT as we knew it,DEAD?
I bought TT back when it first came out in Ver 1.0. (2001?) I haven't seen that much change in the game except for the names of the players; so I don't know if it is "dead" or not. Some of the posts sound like there is a version beyond the 1.1 Garage Games version I have now. Is there a newer version out there?
As has been pointed out; when the original website went down; play slowed for awhile but it has never gone silent when I've been on. The people who say the weather has a lot to do with it are correct; but I don't think the game is going away.

Re: Is TT as we knew it,DEAD?
There is not a new version, its just that we update our game installations with new objects , skins, and there have been many new maps created. You can update your installation by going to the updates forum. Download and install the mod packs and expansion pack. You will get into the new maps , gametypes without wait. If you need help with the install,, just post for some help.
