42 players for teams of 3 would mean 14 captains. Are there enough captains able to consistently commit to organizing their teams and show up? Then again, we probably need a 4th as a reserve. Aye, my head hurts.

3v3 sounds good but there may be a problem getting enough servers for this to happen. You may have to stagger the start times.
Rx has a good formula (reputation) for putting together great leagues and we should probably stick to it but a large 3v3 league does sound like fun.

If you guys need another server, I can host. The only issue is that east coasters would not have fun pinging 200. My server would work best as a backup or a server for those west of Iowa.

PSL is a 4v4 league. While I do enjoy 3v3 on small maps, 4v4 on medium maps is just the bee's knees.
7 teams of 6 sounds best to me. 3 playable servers and 1 or more back-ups with East/West locations to possibly solve any high ping lag issues.

There have been some good 3 vs 3 tournaments in the past (way past), and that might be a worthy format for a post PSL 18 format.
A very different style of play and need the right maps - as you said Roo has made many good ones for this size.

Lets do 3v3 after we finish this 1. 7 teams should be fine , dj and get some captains . As get some said 6 is right number to manage play time.

This is PSL... it will be the highest competition in a 4v4 format, or possibly greater if captains agree. While 3v3 is a decent idea.. we can do better with the number of players and veterans that are returning to play in a traditional league.

No 3v3 this season. We'll leave that for tourneys and such post PSL. This season will be EPIC. :-)

Do we have a definite answer as to how many teams we are going to have? 6, 7, or 8? Personally 7 teams seems like a nice compromise.
