I'm not even going to bother trying to argue politics with you folks. Just letting you know, though, Texas is the greatest state in America. So help me God, I'm damn proud to have been born and raised in Texas. That's right, I'm proud to be a gun-toting, animal-hunting, trash-burning, NASCAR watching psycho. You'd better believe that I have every film ever created that stars John Wayne.

"You fly the Stars and Stripes in front of Bowie High School at 20 feet, and the Lone Star flies at 20 feet. You know why? By Federal Law, we're the only State that can."

I'm proud to be born in the same state as Willy Nelson, Buddy Holly and George W. Bush (Even though some may believe he wasn't born in Texas.) .

I'm what you call a Right-Wing nut. And I'll have you know that we call you Left-Wing nuts.
A Texan looked up at the top of a tall building and discovered a man ready to jump! "Stop," he yelled, "remember you're someone who has value!"

The man yelled back, "I just lost everything of value in the stock market!"

"But remember you're important to your wife," yelled the Texan.

"She divorced me, the b**ch."

"Your children! Remember your children," yelled the Texan.

"They never call," said the man.

"Then your parents. Remember your parents," yelled the Texan.

"Dead as doornails," said the man.

"Then 'Remember the Alamo," yelled the Texan.

"What's the Alamo?" inquired the man.

And the Texan replied: "Jump, you sonnofab***h! Jump!"

I am am a right wing conservative.
Does that mean Willy Nelson isn't a good musician?

Now, I'm not going to call you ignorant, this time. But, I honestly don't have a problem with liberals at a personal level. I do, however, have a problem when someone tells me my birthplace 'aint the best around.

I had the balls to argue that my state is the best. Let's here your story pal.

Oh that's right.

You aren't patriotic in the least about where you grew up, because where you grew up doesn't mean as much as it does to me, because I'm from Texas. And I'll argue that until the day that I croak.

Patriotism is only a paradigm set up within one's psyche. It's not real.

Is somewhat correct. American children are 'forced' to recite the pledge of allegiance each morning from what I know, and the whole idiology of 'The American flag is sacred' Is just a thought/feeling that is taught to you. If you were never taught that everyone sees the American flag as a holy symbol of blah blah blah... Then you would never see it as one yourself.
^ By that same logic, so it would seem love.
Love on the other hand is not something that can be taught. You can be taught about it, but you cannot be taught to feel 'love'. Ofcourse love is all opinionated anyway, and has many descriptions, but is just a series of emotions at the end of the day.

This is where I call you stupid and tell you that you're in the wrong thread. Don't worry though, I don't think you're an ignorant hypocrite.

American children aren't forced in any way to recite the pledge in school. In fact, most teachers in some way discourage it, (at least in my high school) because they think it's a waste of time. Also, by state law, the school district where I live is FORCED to give 1 FULL minute of a moment of silence. Lord knows that doesn't happen, and when they attempt to it's usually only for about 10 seconds. I hope to God you don't assume that Patriotism is taught in our schools, because it sure as hell isn't. Apart from U.S. History that you take your Junior year, you don't learn much at all about America anyway.

As for patriotism, let's look up the definition.

Dictionary.com
devoted love, support, and defense of one's country; national loyalty.

Wikipedia
Patriotism is love of and/or devotion to one's country
Wait, wait, wait. So love can be taught or it can't? Love is by nature or it isn't? How can you be taught to love one's country if love cannot be taught to love in the first place? ( At least that's what you just said )

It's alright though Jay. I understand why Patriotism itself may be somewhat difficult for you to grasp. I mean come on, you're from Wales. Or is it Whales? Meh. Doesn't make a difference. All the people there are 600 pound, yellow teethed bas.tards. I mean how can it be possible for anyone there to feel in the least patriotic about the people who lived there before them. Does anyone in Whales (I'd rather call it that. Hope you don't mind.) remember anything about anyone that lived in Whales 100 years ago?

Let me answer that one for you. Yes. But not you Jay. Because you have no idea what I'm talking about because you as a child weren't taught by your parents anything involving your forefathers. Because they didn't care either. (Honestly, don't blame them Jay. I wouldn't want to know anything about Whales anyway.)

OK, Jay. I'm finished absolutely unnecessarily bashing you and your Country. (But doesn't it just feel awesome?)

I hope that you'll notice that I can think of some pretty mean things to say about Wales, and I'm sure you can think of some pretty rude things about Texas. (Hey! And so can I)

Let's start with this picture.

I mean come on. This picture is SO hilarious, you'd HAVE to laugh. Honestly guys, I'm rolling on my floor right now, laughing at the person who put this together's humor. I just can't get over how hilarious this image is and I'm thinking about making a poster.
